Is It Too Late for Vishwambhara to Bounce Back?

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming fantasy film Vishwambhara is currently facing a serious hype deficit. What was once seen as a massive pan India spectacle has now slipped into near silence, with even fans barely discussing the film.

The downfall began after the teaser release, which faced heavy trolling due to subpar CGI. That backlash hit the film hard, forcing the team to delay the release and go back to the drawing board. Since then, the buzz has completely cooled off.

Now, the entire burden is on the trailer.

The makers are aggressively working on the trailer cut, carefully selecting improved VFX shots that are now being delivered after rework. Insider reports suggest that a few sequences have come out better than expected, and those visuals are being used to build a high impact trailer. The team clearly understands that unless the trailer delivers something extraordinary, the film will not regain traction.

An update was initially planned for Sri Rama Navami, but the team backed off, reportedly to avoid clashing with the buzz around Peddi. The film, directed by Vassishta, stars Trisha as the female lead and is produced by UV Creations, with music composed by M. M. Keeravani.

The current plan is to release the film in June or July, but even that depends on how things shape up in the coming weeks. OTT deal discussions are still ongoing and closing that deal is crucial. Without a solid OTT valuation, the release path itself becomes uncertain.

Here is the blunt reality. The hype is almost dead.

Rebuilding it from this point is going to need a miracle. It will take more than just a decent trailer. The film now needs something visually stunning and genuinely surprising to grab attention again. The damage caused by the teaser was not minor. It disappointed even hardcore fans.

Right now, the makers are facing a make-or-break moment. If the trailer delivers in a big way, Vishwambhara can still recover some buzz, at least among fans. But if it fails to impress, the film risks arriving in theatres dead on arrival.
