Trailer Talk: Routine Mass Elevated By Star Presence

Here is the theatrical trailer of Viswasam which is going to clash with Superstar Rajinikanth’s Petta in Tamil. It stars Ajith in the lead and is going to release on January 10th the same day as Petta.

If the songs and posters weren’t an indication as to what to expect, the trailer leaves nothing to the imagination. It is an out and out commercial fare that is also very routine. What, however, makes the whole things work is the star at the centre, Ajith. His screen presence, dialogue modulation and action blocks create hopes of an engaging fare on hands for the festival. Ajith has previously done two similar routine mass films with the director (Siva) that were successful before failing with a spy thriller. The combo seems to have realised their strengths and is back to workable mass.

Take a look at the trailer below. Nayanthara is paired opposite Ajith after a very long gap in the movie. Jagapathy Babu plays the antagonist. The Siva directed Viswasam has music by D Imman and is going to have a Tamil-only grand release on January 10th.
