M9 News journalist Nishant sat down with Vishwambhara director Vassishta to discuss the film’s early buzz and controversy. Even before shooting is complete, the team has launched promotions—seemingly to address doubts sparked by the teaser’s mixed VFX reception. Vassishta opened up on several hot topics surrounding the film, including styling, special songs, and online negativity.
Talking about his inspiration, Vassishta said, “Vishwambhara will have everything I love about Chiranjeevi. I grew up influenced by his commercial films. The film reflects his iconic style and brings back that Retro Boss image fans cherish.” His vision is clearly rooted in nostalgia with a modern twist.
He revealed that the film’s interval block is its major highlight. “We shot that segment for 29 days outdoors and another five days indoors, all during peak summer. The final shot in the teaser is from that same block,” he added. The teaser scene has now become a focal point in fan discussions.
Nishant raised some key questions from fans post-teaser. Was Chota K Naidu’s supposed lack of experience with VFX the reason for visual inconsistencies? Was Chiranjeevi’s costume, designed by his daughter Sushmita, handled with enough care? Vassishta responded to each with clarity.
He also addressed allegations that teaser negativity is targeted. “Who has the need to spread such negativity?” he asked. Questions were also raised about why Keeravani wasn’t chosen for the film’s special song, and whether there’s an OTT deal issue affecting the release timeline.
Another concern was the tight release gap between two Chiranjeevi films—Vishwambhara in October and the untitled Chiru-Anil film in January. Vassishta acknowledged the concern but emphasized that planning and execution will make both releases successful.
