There has been a lot of void at the Tollywood ticket counters for the last few weeks with not many encouraging films for the Telugu audience. This word appears to be filled with a content oriented small film, Court which was produced by Nani.
Notably, Court and Dilruba released at the box office last weekend, and while one of them turned out to be a clear winner, the other turned out to be a washout.
Reportedly, Court could collect in the range of ₹25 crore gross globally in the first weekend, which is a pretty good number for a film of this scale, which has a rather small cast. Nani has excelled as a producer in terms of script selection, and also nurturing young talent.
Even at the United States box office, this Nani production film is doing pretty well. It has touched the $600K mark already and it is continuing on a positive trajectory.
On the other hand, we have a Dilruba, which could not even post mention with the numbers at the domestic box office. In the United States, the film is struggling at $20,000.
Sadly, Kiran Abbavaram is tasting a washout with Dilruba again after making a comeback with Ka. The responsibility is on him to come up with more quality content in the future, else this will be the fate.
