West Media Confused About ‘Rao’ and ‘Charan’

RRR has turned out to be an unprecedented phenomenon in the West, particularly in the U.S. The movie received praise not only from viewers and critics but also from many Hollywood directors and technicians. After many decades, India finally has a shot at getting nominated and may even win at the Oscars.

Apart from SS Rajamouli’s vision, the performances of NTR and Ram Charan also have been highly appreciated. But the West is getting confused about their surnames. They are assuming Rao is the surname of NTR and Charan is the surname of Ram Charan.

The western media has the habit of calling celebs by their surname. Shah Rukh Khan is referred to as Mr. Khan, and Deepika Padukone is referred to as Ms. Padukone. Similarly, they are calling NTR Mr. Rama Rao and Ram Charan Mr. Charan.

But the West media should realize how important it is to get people’s names right.

Anyhow, the reports suggest that the chances of RRR getting nominated at the Oscars are at an all-time high for any Indian film. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
