What Happened To Nani’s Directors?

Nani is one of the very few heroes who had been making consistently good films. The positive thing is that he is able to make quality good films, even with debutants and youngsters while others are struggling even with experienced filmmakers.

However, we have the case of two talented young directors who worked with Nani and delivered hits, but were unable to carry the momentum.

The directors in discussion here are Vivek Athreya and Gautham Tinnanuri. Vivek made Saripodha Sanivaaram with Nani while Gautham made Jersey. At least, Gautham was able to make another film, Kingdom with Vijay Deverakonda, while Vivek had been workless since Saripodha.

Vivek is one of the talented directors in Telugu cinema, and he proved his commercial meter with Nani as well. His natural expectation would have been to materialise multiple films after delivering commercial success, but that simply isn’t the case.

Vivek had been talks with multiple actors like Ravi Teja, Balakrishna and Rajinikanth, but none of these films had materialised eventually.

Gautham made Kingdom with Vijay and even he had been away from the grid ever since. There is no consolidated update on his next potential film. The Magic film, he had made under Sitara productions had also disappeared without a trace.

It appears that a couple of talented directors who had worked with Nani are facing a tough challenges, and only time will tell how they would come out of this.
