Whats wrong with Zanjeer overseas?

On Wednesday, we published a news that Bluesky, the US distributor of Zanjeer/Thoofan backed out from the distribution just 2 days before the release. While everyone a surprised this last minute move, very few know what actually happened. The deal costed 3 Crore to Bluesky and they already paid 1 Crore advance. But the problem is the makers of Zanjeer failed to create enough buzz for the movie and the promotional material could not invoke any interest in buyers.

The impact of weak business of Hindi version and the dubbing feel also killed the prospect of Thoofan. As a result, Blusky could not even close the business in 50% locations and they backed out of the deal. At this point there is no guarantee even about the advance amount they paid to Reliance. On the other side, Reliance will be directly releasing the movie in US but due to the change of distributor, premieres and the big release are almost ruled out.
