All that we see on the big screen is the super stardom of heroes and heroines, but what we don’t see are numerous things like the voice behind a heroine. The dubbing artists who have lend their voices to so many actors have always remained in the dark.
Nobody has ever spoken of these artists nor do we know their names to say the least. Imagine our cinema industry without dubbing artists and we wouldn’t have any of the top heroines in the business. However, we still don’t give importance to several dubbing artistes.
Don’t dubbing artists deserve special awards? I totally believe they should be given separate category at all major award functions. We don’t even know how these artist get paid for their work. I’m sure it must a pittance of a film’s budget.
