Why Tamil Folk Didn’t Care Much For Dhanush?

Tamil audience have a very peculiar and indigenous taste in films, as they generally don’t tend to like what the majority of the south audience like.

A similar trend is again being replicated in the form of Kuberaa now. This film turned out to be a significant success in the Telugu market and it is heading for Rs 100 crore gross here.

But when it comes to the Tamil market, there has been very little contribution as it has barely touched ₹13 crore gross till now.

Considering the fact that Dhanush is a conventional Tamil superstar, who has a pretty solid market in the Tamil language, these are peanut numbers for Kuberaa.

Tamil folk generally prefer social dramas with hard-hitting narratives, and it could be perhaps argued that Kuberaa falls under this category.

But for reasons, best known to them, the Tamil folk have stayed away from this Dhanush and Nagarjuna film. Reasonably decent reviews have also not helped the cause of the film in the Tamil belt.

But Dhanush might not be too worried about this, considering that he is indeed developing a solid market for himself in the Telugu states. He had already delivered a super successful film in the form of Sir. And now it is the turn of Kuberaa.

It should not be too long before Dhanush builds himself, a stable market in the Telugu states, much like Thalapathy Vijay, Surya, Karthi and others.
