Will Family Star Hit $1 Million in the U.S.?

Vijay Deverakonda is back with his blockbuster director Parasuram from “Geetha Govindam,” and “Family Star” opened to mixed reviews all over.

Looking at the U.S. collections, “Family Star” has earned $282,689 from its premieres on Thursday, and Friday’s collection seems to be decent given the buzz it has received.

By Friday around 9 PM EST, “Family Star” had collected $164,518, which means it will go near half-a-million gross by the end of the day.

If tomorrow (Saturday) maintains the same momentum and contributes another $200K+, it will reach around $750K by the first weekend. This is a good number considering the film’s reception.

If the first weekend gross hits $750K, the second week’s run will determine if it can touch $1 million. However, considering the buzz, it may be difficult, but we will have a clearer picture after next Tuesday.
