‘Kalki2898AD’ has made an impressive North American debut, surpassing $2.7 million in pre-sales alone, outpacing even Prabhas’ last film Salaar’s premiere figures. With two days still left, expectations are high for even more remarkable numbers.
Prathyangira Cinemas, the North American distributor, reported selling 125,000 tickets, bringing in almost $2.7 million. The film’s popularity extends beyond North America, with strong bookings observed in the UK, UAE, and other international markets.
The buzz around ‘Kalki2898AD’ suggests it may soon join the ranks of Indian films with overseas openings exceeding 50 crores.
Only four Indian films have opened with 50+ crores gross in the overseas.
According to trade figures, Baahubali 2 opened with 63 crores (30 cr from US, 17 from UAE, and 16 from Rest of World), RRR with 62 crores, Leo with 60 crores, and Salaar with 58 crores (33 cr from US and 25 from Rest of World).
As the final two days approach, all eyes are on ‘Kalki2898AD’ to see if it will cement its place among these elite earners.
The trade expects that Kalki will open in the range of $7 Million (approx INR 56 Crores) in the overseas territories.
