Will KGF 2 Be Better Placed Than RRR?

SS Rajamouli’s RRR is releasing on January 7th, 2022 as Sankranthi Special. This time, the release seems certain unless there are some last-minute surprises from Corona. It is being heard that the makers are taking some cuts in the film’s business deals considering the latest business realities.

In Andhra Pradesh, along with the business realities, the ticket prices issue is also impacting the movie. But then, there will be price cuts in all the other areas as well because the Pre-COVID deals are no longer tenable. It looks like the makers of KGF 2 have sensed this trouble well in advance.

That may be the reason for them not to try to book any date in 2021 or early 2022. They are hoping that the market will stabilize by Summer 2022 and KGF 2 will have no release problems. While this is partly true, Rajamouli will not have the luxury of playing the endless waiting game because of the huge budget involved.

So, this is the best strategy for RRR. For KGF 2 part, such a long gap can be risky as well. One more COVID wave close to the release can be disastrous but the makers have taken a conscious risk.
