Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, was released in theatres on March 27 and has received mixed responses from audiences.
Despite the reviews, L2: Empuraan is facing several political issues, as the film contains scenes that allegedly violate religious sentiments.
In this scenario, there is now strong buzz that the L2: Empuraan team is planning to start Part 3, tentatively titled L3: Azrael, with an official announcement expected on April 3 or 4.
At the same time, following political pressure, the team has cut 17 scenes and is also planning to mute certain dialogues in the movie that are deemed controversial.
Even though the other versions of L2: Empuraan have crashed in many places due to mixed responses, the Malayalam version is still holding strong at the box office.
However, there have been no official updates on this yet, and it remains to be seen whether L3: Azrael will take off in the future.
