Will Mega fans stand up for Rey?

With the way director YVS Chowdhary has gone about promoting his film Rey, it is clear that he is targeting the Mega fans for it to sail through. The film also faces stiff competition in the form of Jil which is as fresh a film as one get to compete.

Jil stars an inform Gopichand right off the massive success of Loukyam and it contains heroine Rashi Khanna who is currently very hot among the youth. Add to it music which has found appreciation and a banner that has delivered back to back success, one should get an idea why the last minute pandering to fans (Pawanism song) in a such a way by director cum producer YVS Chowdhary.

But can the fans stand up to Rey? If we look back even Sai Dharam Tej’s first film Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham released after long delay. Still it got decent openings and went onto be an average grosser at the box office as well. It would be an oversight surely if one were to simply ignore the banners presenting the film too. The bottom-line is despite delay the film had factors to open well. With Rey one couldn’t see any such things.

It will therefore be surely interesting to see what kind of opening Rey puts up. Will it be face saving one, remember there is a holiday too or a true-blue disaster? At this very moment it looks like latter is the most possible scenario but in movie business one can’t be so sure before it actually happens, right?
