Will T Settlers forget YSRCP’s avoidance?

YSR Congress Party had announced that it will be contesting all the divisions in upcoming GHMC elections. This move will help the ruling party immensely as it will split the votes of the strong settler community and help TRS in winning. YSR Congress is totally ousted out of Telangana even before the last elections. The party is almost empty there but is pinning hopes on some settler votes in GHMC region.

YSR Congress failed to make any impact even on the settlers in the last Assembly elections. The party did not even get significant number of votes and lost deposits in all the seats under Greater Hyderabad. If the party revives even to some extent, it will eat in to the settlers votes and decrease the advantage of TDP and BJP combine. However things will not be much easy for the party as Jagan totally ignored Telangana affairs after the elections and left the party to Working President, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy.

On the other side, TRS is also likely to join hands with MIM and consolidate the numbers by winning maximum number of divisions in Old City region. The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti is traditionally very weak in GHMC area, the government is trying to delay the elections as much as possible. If TRS manages to get the Mayor seat, it will be the biggest victory of KCR till date. Hence the Telangana Chief Minister is trying his best to attract all the MLAs of the opposition parties before the elections.
