World’s largest silicon manufacturer coming to AP

Boosting the manufacturing segment in Andhra Pradesh, the world’s largest silicon manufacturer XI’an LONGI has decided to set up two plants in the state, with a total investment of Rs 8000 crore. While the first project will be solar module manufacturing units, the second project will see the company setting up a solar power park in the state.

The Chinese company is one of the most reputed companies in the World. In February 2013, the company was named as “2013 China 10 most innovative companies” by American famous media “Fast Company”. The company people are in touch with the AP officials with their requirements of land and other amenities.

The state government is thinking on the lines of giving the project to Rayalaseema where there is abundant land availability as well as suitable conditions for solar power. These two projects have huge scope of creating direct and indirect employment in the truncated state. The fact that Andhra Pradesh came in at the second spot in World Bank’s ranking as far as ease of doing business is concerned is working wonders for the state.
