'Wrong Address' problems to Hyd police!

In the name of strict policing, Hyderabad Traffic Police sent about 7000 to 8000 challans every day to Traffic offenders. However most of them return to the echallan center citing ‘wrong address’. In some cases offenders change to a new address but their records are not updated.

In some cases the vehicles are sold and the new owner do not register them on his name and so the challan goes to old owners who refuse to accept them. These wrong address problems pose a big security threat the Police says.

Police are planning to launch an awareness drive to update the vehicle ownership details. This drive will go on till December end and from January onwards, they are planning to start seizing vehicles if the driver is unable to provide details pertaining to the authenticity of the vehicle’s owner.
