Zee On Board For Bangarraju: A Win-Win Combo!

A few days ago, the muhurat for Nagarjuna’s long-awaited Soggade Chinni Nayana prequel, Bangarraju, took place. Today (August 25th), the film has commenced its regular shoot. An official announcement was made regarding the same, and it came with a pleasant surprise that makes it a winning deal.

Zee Studios which is silently making its presence felt in Telugu cinema with good OTT acquisitions has been roped in as co-production banner. Bangarraju will now be a joint production venture of Annapurna Studios and Zee Studios.

It is a win-win situation for both Zee Studio and Annapurna Studios with the association. The budget of the movie could be more flexible. Bangarraju can be made on a grand scale. Who knows? It might even have a multiple language release. Zee, on the other hand, has a crazy movie in its kitty. It would help a great deal in its visibility across the smaller centres.

Kalyan Krishna, who directed Soggade Chinni Nayana, directs Bangarraju. It brings together the father and son duo of Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya after Manam. Apart from Nagarjuna, Ramya Krishna reprises her role from SCN. Krithi Shetty is the new addition, similar to Chaitu.

A prequel to Soggade Chinni Nayana, Bangarraju is aimed for a Sankranthi 2022 release. The subject is what demands a festival arrival like SCN, hence Nagarjuna, is looking at all possibilities to get Bangarraju in cinemas for the Sankranthi season.
