Keeravani Turns Writer For Ilayaraja

Very rarely do two composers fuel a song with their creative energies in different capacities. ‘Yedho Ye Janmalodo’ song from the movie Shashtipoorthi is one such song. Maestro Ilaiyaraaja, an expert of classic romantic songs, has set to tune lyrics penned by MM Keeravani.

Shot on Rupeysh and Aakanksha Singh, the song is rendered by Ananya Bhat. Director Pavan Prabha, talking about its genesis, says that during a Chennai recording session with Ilaiyaraaja, the composer created tunes for two songs for their film. Inspired, he suggested a third, a narrative song about a woman’s life and love. While lyricists Rahman and Chaitanya Prasad had already contributed to the film’s other songs, the director sought a fresh take from Keeravani. After coordinating with Rupeysh and Chaitanya Prasad, they met Keeravani in Chennai. The Baahubali composer produced the lyrics super fast and brilliantly.

Rajendra Prasad and his Ladies Tailor pairing, Archana, play a veteran couple. Their roles are as important as that of the Rupeysh-Aakanksha duo’s in the film.

Chakrapani Ananda, Achyut Kumar, Prabhas Sreenu, Chalaki Chanti, Muralidhar Goud, and Jabardasth Ram are part of the cast. ‘Padma Sri’ Thota Tharani is the art director. Maa Aaie Productions will announce the release date soon.
