Telugu Student Shot Dead in Ohio, U.S.

In a rather disturbing development, Saiesh Veera, 24 year old Telugu student who had gone to the U.S. to pursue his master’s was shot dead at a Shell gas station at West Broad Street in in Franklinton, Columbus, Ohio. He was killed at 12.50 am local time.

He is originally from Eluru, Andhra Pradesh. His H1B got picked, was about to graduate in 10 days.

He came to the USA (the first in his family) like any other middle-class guy with aspirations and uplift his family situation as his father passed away two years ago.

The Telugu student was in the last semester of his studies. Though of late, there has been a lot of concern over Indian students working at gas stations late at night, and many are not heeding the advice due to financial issues.

International students in the U.S. must be very careful working part-time jobs, particularly at late night. These incidents not only impact individuals but also shatter families back home.
