Business Tycoon and the managing director of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani, emerged as the wealthiest person in both Asia and India.
As per the “2024 List of Billionaires” made by Forbes, Mukesh secured the top spot with a wealth of $116 billion. He is also the only person from Asia to join the prestigious $100 billion club.
A total of 200 Indians made it to the Billionaires list this year, compared to 169 last year. The combined wealth of all these billionaires stands at $954 billion.
Gautam Adani of Adani Industries is in the second position with a net worth of $84 billion. Shiv Nadar, Chairman of HCL Enterprise, secured the third position with a wealth of $36.9 billion.
India’s wealthiest woman, Savitri Jindal, is in the fourth position, with a net worth of $33.5 billion. Sun Pharma’s Dilip Sanghvi stood in fifth place with a wealth of $26.7 billion.
They were followed by Cyrus Poonawalla ($21.3 billion), Kushal Pal Singh ($20.9 billion), Kumar Birla ($19.7 billion), Radhakishan Damani ($17.6 billion) and Lakshmi Mittal ($16.4 billion) in the next five positions respectively.
