24.2 Lakh Voters Deleted from Greater?

As many as 24.2 Lakh Votes are being removed from the GHMC alone after the State Election Commission says they were found not staying in the given address. The EC will give time until December 31st for the claims and objections over this list.

Once the time lapses, they would be deleted from the voters’ list. 55.3 Lakh Votes will be retained and at the same time, 5.82 Lakh new voters are enrolled. EC claims to have done door to door verification to finalize the voter list.

The final rolls will be available from January 20, 2018, and are likely to be the final list for 2019 elections. On the other side, Opposition Parties allege that the ruling party is arm-twisting the Election Commission to remove the votes of the people in favor of them.
