Online shopping risky in Hyderabad?

According to a study conducted by anti-virus giant Norton by Symantec, online shoppers in Hyderabad are increasingly falling prey to spamware and malware. These spamware and malware is being used to siphon important data such as photographs, videos and sometimes even money from bank accounts.

According to the study, close to 50 per cent of Hyderabadis have accepted increasing online shopping in the recent times. 68 per cent of users worry about the security threats of online shopping. And 42 per cent say they have experienced a security problem, threat or nuisance as a result of online shopping.

The nationwide study had a sample size of 1,005 users above 16 years of age, revealed that the risk involved for Hyderabad online shoppers are much more than the shoppers in other big cities. Even data provided by the National Crime Records Bureau also reveal that cyber crime is on a rise in Telangana.
