A New Bait For Kukatpally Kammas!

Senior politician Tummala Nageswara Rao was sidelined from the BRS for a long time. He was refused a ticket in the list of BRS candidates. Tummala held a huge rally in Khammam as a show of strength and dropped hints about joining Congress.

Rumors are that Tummala is expecting Paleru or Khammam seats on the Congress symbol.

There is another speculation that Congress is thinking on the lines to field Tummala from Kukatpally.

Kukatpally constituency is the hotbed of Kammas. Also, Tummala is a revered name in the community. Congress feels fielding Tummala from Kukatpally will impact the entire Kamma population in Telangana. But then, sources say that Tummala is not in the mood to take a risk and is only keen on Paleru.

BRS, however, says the impact of Tummala contesting from Kukatpally will be minimal. “Kammas have rallied with BRS even when TDP contested in alliance with Congress in 2018. Compared to that, the impact of Tummala will be minimal,” they say.

Incidentally, Tummala fought Congress all his political career and is now joining the same party at the fag end of his career. He is likely to join Congress in Delhi on September 6th in the presence of Rahul Gandhi or Mallikharjuna Kharge.
