A skyscrapper for display of Nizam jewellery!

The 173-set Nizam Jewellery consisting of 348 pieces was acquired by the Central government in 1995 for 217 Crore. The famed jewellery was to be displayed in Hyderabad but that did happen as the Erst While United Andhra Pradesh government failed to give proper site and security.

Telangana government under K Chandrasekhar Rao is keen to take the permanent custody of these jewellery stored in RBI vaults. The government is planning to build a skyscrapper with never heard of security for the permanent display of the jewellery in Hyderabad.

The government is already in talks with famous architect Hafeez Contractor and Salarjung Museum authorities regarding this. The state government is planning to pursue the issue with the center very soon. The government is exploring all ways and means, including the legal position to get the jewellery to Hyderabad for permanent display.
