Aam Admi Party won with Congress vote!

As expected Congress drew a big blank in the Delhi elections, Aam Admi Party is leading all the way by winning (and leading) in 64 seats. BJP is currently leading in 4 seats but is very far away from attaining the official opposition status. The party should get a minimum of 7 seats to be recognized as the main opposition party.

While we observe the voting pattern, BJP has got 33% vote share in 2013 and it has got 34% vote share now registering a mere 1% vote growth. AAP has got 30% votes in 2013 and a whopping 54% votes now which means a huge 24% growth.

The improvement of Aam Admi Party came from eating in to the vote share of Congress and others. Congress’ 2013 vote share of 25% is now down to 9% and the 12% Vote share of Others now came down to 3% which means the 25% Vote share lost by Congress and Others is bagged by the Muffler man. BJP will only blame itself for not registering good performance than the last election.
