Abdul Kalam’s Name To Be Replaced By YSR’s Name?

A Newspaper report claims that the Government is contemplating changing the names of Ongole University and IIIT in Kanigiri. The Bhoomi Puja for these institutions happened during Chandrababu’s regime. The University is named after Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu and the IIIT after APJ Abdul Kalam.

The report claims that the CMO has asked to expedite the works of these institutions but decided to change the names kept during Chandrababu’s regime. The plan is to name the IIIT against Chief Minister Jagan’s father, YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Basing on the advice of Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh, a file has been prepared by the department and is currently in the process.

It is understandable to change the names if they are named after politicians but Tanguturi and Kalam are the pride of the country. Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu is a freedom fighter hailing from Prakasam district. Former President APJ Abdul Kalam has made India proud in the World.

It is an insult to the entire country to change their names.
