Administration shift to happen in advance?

Andhra Pradesh government had already announced its intention to shift its administration from Hyderabad to Amaravati by June 27th. Officials are gearing up for the shift one week before that. APIIC, Municipal, Urban Development, IT and Education departments have already identified office spaces and started shifting.

Remaining departments are also negotiating for office spaces. 90% of the administration will be shifted by June 20th. Employees have also started scouting accommodation for themselves. Employees have gone to Amaravati on Saturday and Sunday. They had a busy weekend scouting for rent houses and schools/colleges for children.

On the other side, the construction of Interim Secretariat in Velagapudi is progressing at brisk pace. The construction is likely to complete by June 15th. Construction companies, L&T and Shapur Pallonji have deployed workers in multiple shifts round the clock to make sure that happens.
