The Winter session of Andhra Pradesh State Assembly will begin today amid huge tensions and speculations. Both the houses will be adjourned on the first day after expressing condolences to Nelson Mandela. The recent havoc caused by Cyclones, Brijesh Tribunal verdict are on the agenda but Telangana issue which is shaking the state for the last few months will take the center stage.
The Assembly is in severe disarray like never before. Even the ruling party, Congress is split vertically over the bifurcation issue. Chief Minister himself had waged a war on his party high command in this issue and is being accused of ignoring the interests of Telangana region. Similar situation is prevailing in almost all the parties. President had given 40 days time for Assembly to give its opinion on bifurcation issue. In all probability, a separate session will be convened to discuss the issue as this session will only last for 5-7 days.
