Amaravati is Flood-Proof: Minister Narayana

Andhra Pradesh MAUD Minister Narayana clarified that Amaravati is fully flood-proof and there is no danger of flooding now or in the future. He explained that the area behind the West Bypass Road requires a 25-foot height, and as it was filled with mud due to ongoing works, water temporarily flowed back.

Officials created a breach to divert the waters, resolving the issue. Narayana stressed that advanced Netherlands technology was used to ensure Amaravati remains flood-proof. He dismissed YSRCP’s claims on social media and other platforms that rains had flooded Amaravati, saying there is no reason for people to worry.

He also responded to sarcastic remarks made by Kethireddy Venkatarami Reddy, who said one could fish for pulasa in Amaravati. Narayana said people are disgusted with such false propaganda. He emphasised that Amaravati is the people’s capital and is being built to reflect their aspirations.

The Minister added that those making mean comments against Amaravati will not be forgiven. He assured that the government is committed to protecting the capital and has been closely monitoring the flood situation in the region.
