Amaravati Issue Nothing to Lose and Something to Gain for BJP?

Union Government has filed an Affidavit in Andhra Pradesh High Court regarding the Capital issue of Andhra Pradesh. In the Affidavit, the Central Government confirmed that Capital is an issue of the State Government and it will have no role in it.

A petitioner approached the High Court saying that Capital is a central issue and urged the Court to instruct the Central Government to interfere in this issue. The High Court asked the Central Government to file a detailed Affidavit. Accordingly, the affidavit has been filed.

With this, it is clear that the BJP led Central Government does not want to interfere in this issue. So, it will appear like it is indirectly supporting the Decentralization idea and at the same time, it will provide lip service to the farmers of Amaravati in their agitation. So, BJP is trying to play a safe game in this issue.

Moreover, if at all, there are monetary interests of TDP in Amaravati, the Capital shift will also help in killing that party which is again a take away for the Saffron Party. Hence, BJP is looking at this issue as Nothing to Lose and Something to Gain. With Chandrababu unlikely to attack them, they feel further secured in this issue.
