Amaravati to be a ‘Make in India’ venture!

Repelling the allegations of ignoring desi talent, Andhra Pradesh government had decided to employ Indian planner for finalizing the Master Plan submitted by the Singapore Experts team. Once the seed capital Master Plan is submitted, it will be ratified by a team of local planners who will will check the suitability of the plan submitted by Singapore for local conditions.

Singapore team themselves advised this move as Indian planners are more aware of local conditions than themselves. Also the Master plan is for the next 100 years which is to be revised every decade, involving Indian architects will be easy for the revision work too.

Singapore has already delivered the first master plan on April 30 which is regarding development of the 7,325 sq km capital region. The second master plan for Amaravati, the capital covering 125 sq km, was submitted on May 25. The final master plan, for the detailed Seed Capital Area (SCA) spread over 8 sq km, is expected to be submitted by the middle of July.
