Now, another new case has been filed by Amaravati farmers against the Jagan government. This is in connection with the R5 gazette notification by the YCP government and the case has landed in the Supreme Court.
As per this notification, the government can allot 900 acres of land in Amaravati to economically weaker sections from any part of Andhra Pradesh. The Amaravati farmers have been firmly standing against the same.
After the AP high court refused to pass an interim order on the case, the farmers approached the supreme court, asking for a stay on the R5 notification passed by the YCP government.
The Apex court will take up the case on the 14th of April. Senior lawyer Dama Seshadri Naidu is arguing on behalf of the farmers in this case.
