‘Amma Hastham’ to be erased by TDP

Chandrababu Naidu led TDP government is slowly erasing all the Congress marks on the government programs and is painting them ‘Yellow’ since he took to the office. And now we are said that Chandrababu is also planning to replace the flagship Amma Hastham scheme of the previous Kiran Kumar Reddy government.

In the Amma Hastham scheme, every Below Poverty Line (BPL) family will be given a package of 1 kg tur dal, 1 litre palm oil, 1 kg maida, 1 kg wheat atta, 500 gm sugar, 1 kg salt, 250 gm chilli power, 500 gm tamarind and 100 gm turmeric power.

However there are complaints that the quality of the items supplied in this scheme are very poor. Chandrababu wants to revamp the entire scheme with better quality food commodities. Civil suplies Minister Paritala Sunita and Officials are currently planning the scheme and the issue will be taken up in the next cabinet meeting.
