AP Airports Booming with Passengers!

Vijayawada Airport seems to be booming after the state bifurcation. The airport close to the upcoming capital area of the state has crossed an unimaginable magic figure in traffic growth, between April and November this year. The traffic growth is 76% when compared to the same time last year.

All the airports in the state have registered the growth rate by about 44 percent. Tirupati airport secured second place after Vijayawada in growth rate as 43 percent more, when compared to the corresponding period last year. Visakhapatnam airport stood as number one in passengers traffic among all the airports in Andhra Pradesh.

Rajamahendravaram airport has registered an improvement in passengers traffic, by registering 21 per cent growth. Only Kadapa Airport registered poor performance as there were a meager 6544 passengers during this period. Despite the growth in passengers traffic in Vijayawada airport, the Ministry of Civil Aviation did not address the demand of the overseas travelers by increasing outbound flights.
