Andhra Pradesh delays Telangana’s dream!

It is the dream of Telangana people to have a separate High Court. Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act clearly states that the existing High Court will continue to serve both the states till AP gets a separate High Court. Telangana government is pressing with the Central government to make the separate high courts as soon as possible.

But Andhra Pradesh government is giving the issue a very low priority and is delaying the land allotment to the high court in the upcoming capital of the state. Telangana Chief Minister had offered to shift the High Court of Telangana State to some other place if the Center finishes the division of judges, judicial officers and staff between both the states. Telangana government offered to allow Andhra Pradesh High Court in the existing premises.

Once the separate high courts are formed for both the states, one of the most senior judges from both the High Courts would get a chance of being elevated as Chief Justice and further elevation to Supreme Court.
