Andhra Pradesh to Disclose Singapore Bid

Andhra Pradesh government is making swift moves to overcome the legal bottlenecks over the Swiss Challenge method of awarding contracts for the construction of the core region of capital Amaravati. The state government is planning to reveal the financial bid of the Original Project Proponent (OPP) is disclosed to the competitive bidders in all the projects taken up under this method.

The state government has also decided that Andhra Pradesh Infrastructure Authority (APIA), which currently has the final say in clearance of the Swiss challenge proposals will vest the responsibility to respective departments which will directly send proposals to the cabinet. An amendment bill has to be put up in the next Assembly session to make these changes.

It is known that Hyderabad High Court had issued a Stay on the Swiss Challenge Method adopted by the State government for the development of 6.84 square km start-up area in Amaravati capital city on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode and posted the next hearing of the case to October 31st asking the state government to file a counter.
