Andhra Pradesh Following Telangana’s Flawed Strategy?

Andhra Pradesh has been registering horrendous Corona numbers for the past one week or so. The other day, there were 3963 cases and 52 deaths in the state. A whopping 994 cases are from the East Godavari district alone which has become the hotbed of Corona cases in the last few days.

With 5499 cases, East Godavari has the second-highest number of cases in the state. While people are worried about the sudden rise, a News Report in NTV suggested that the officials have decided to stop the testing in the district. The reason is really surprising.

The report said the testing is stopped because the number of cases is high. A few days ago, the Telangana Government also stopped the testing in the GHMC area so as to clear the backlogs. There are instances of testing slowed down due to the shorage of tests. But stopping tests just because the cases are rising is really weird.

Stopping tests for any reason can prove to be dangerous anywhere across the globe. Further, that should not be done in a district where the cases are huge.
