AP govt alloting land for free of cost

Andhra Pradesh government had identified lands for setting up of 11 Central institutions, including IIT and IIM, alloted to state under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act. These institutions will setup with the funding of the center with a condition that state should allot land free of cost.

Classes have already started for the academic year 2015-16 for IIT, IISER and the classes for NIT and IIM will begin this month. Central University at Anantapur and Tribal University at Vizianagaram will begin classes from the next academic year.

However there is no clarity over the starting of early starting of AIIMS at Guntur, National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) at Vijayawada and Agriculture University at Guntur and Petroleum University in East Godavari district, all of these are pending approvals from the center.
