AP Govt Resorts To A Gimmick To Circumvent High Court Order

It is known to our readers that Andhra Pradesh High Court had ordered the State Government to change the party colors to all the Panchayat buildings in the state. The Government has come up with clever guidelines on a colour scheme to circumvent court orders.

They have decided on four colors as options, all of which are the same as the ruling party flag – terracotta, green, blue, white. The Government also came up with a twisted logic for choosing these colors so that the courts do not interfere further. The Government claims Terrakota resembles Earth, Green resembles Green Revolution (Crops), White Resembles White Revolution (Milk), and Blue – Blue Revolution (Aqua).

Andhra Pradesh High Court in its earlier order asked the Government to choose colors that do not resemble any party colors. This is a clear contempt of court and it has to be seen how the court reacts. Moreover, this has come at a time when the state is suffering from Corona Crisis.

It is disheartening that even Governments resort to such gimmicks just for political benefits which will send wrong signals to society. The total number of cases in the state are nearing 1000 already. Earlier, the Government also knocked on the door of the Supreme Court on this issue but to of no use.
