AP govt to avoid Singapore skyscrapers

The state government is planning to have only 15 floors government buildings in the Seed Capital of Andhra Pradesh even after Singapore team proposing iconic skyscrappers. The government instead will allow the skyscrappers in commercial zones.

They have arrived at this decision so as to minimize the burden on the state exchequer. The government may have to afford all the government buildings in the seed capital and then the construction of high-rises would be more expensive when compared to the ones built horizontally.

Also given the soil conditions in Amaravati, 15 storeyed buildings will be ideal according to the experts. However the advantage with the skyscrappers is that the cost of delivery of services such as power and water would be on a much higher side if the capital city has structures scattered here and there.
