‘AP Has High Prostitution, Teenage Pregnancies’

Telugu Desam Party scion Nara Lokesh has been effectively using social media to target the CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on public issues. He has done the same, on a more alarming and sensible topic now.

Lokesh has shared a report on the alarming rise in female prostitution and also teenage pregnancies in Andhra Pradesh.

“I am deeply anguished by the devastating consequences of extreme poverty for the women of #AndhraPradesh. It is alarming that our state has the highest number of women forced into prostitution and leads in teenage pregnancies resulting from incidents of sexual assault which are going unreported because police is made busy stifling the voices of the opposition.

Psycho Jagan’s hollow welfare failed to provide these sisters with the security and dignified lives they deserved.” Lokesh tweeted.

As per this report dated to 2021, teenage pregnancies (Aged 15-19) in AP are at 12.6% which is one of the highest in the country. In Telangana, the count is at 5.8%.

As per the compiled date, AP has 1,33 lakh female sex workers as compared to 1 lah in Telangana. These shocking statistics have caught the attention on social media.
