AP Secretariat to Function from Vizag by April

Despite the legal issues, the State Government is silently doing its work about the shifting of the capital to Vishakapatnam. The Secretariat is likely to be housed in the Millenium Towers in Madurawada and the Government is scouting for flats in nearby locations for the employees.

Sources say that they have reached out to Haritha Garden Apartments for 200 flats on Rent Basis. We are also told that the officials hinted at the April lease of these apartments. Haritha Garden Project is spread on 20 acres and there are 710 units of 800, 1380, 1800 square feet.

The Apartment Association was informed that the Vishakapatnam District Collector will reach out to them very soon and finalize the Rent. This means the Government is actively considering to work from Vishakapatnam from the next month.

On the other side, there were rumors a few days ago that the Navy objected to shifting of the Secretariat to Millenium Towers citing Security issues to its strategic assets along the East Coast. But later, the Navy clarified that they are not approached for any permissions. Meanwhile, the stir of farmers who gave their lands in Land Pooling entered the 76th day.
