AP signs 250 Crore MOU with Wonderla

In a major boost to the tourism segment of Andhra Pradesh, the state government had signed an MOU with Bengaluru based amusement park operator, Wonderla Holidays Limited. They will be investing 250 Crore in the state in the next five years.

They are planning to setup a large scale amusement park in Andhra Pradesh with the first phase to be completed by 2019 and the second phase by 2020. This investment will create as many as 500 jobs in the first phase and another 200 jobs in the second phase.

The company is planning the amusement park in 50 acres between Guntur and Vijayawada. The company currently operates two amusement parks under the brand name ‘Wonderla’ in Kochi and Bengaluru. They say they see Amaravati as one of the emerging key destinations for industrial investments and hence hosts a huge potential for their industry too.
