Special Status Issue – No Takers!

Andhra Pradesh Politics were driven around Special Status issue for the last three years but then all the parties seemed to have abandoned the issue and moved forward. BJP obviously ditched the people by going back on its promise and its partner, TDP is the first to realize that no one can move the mighty BJP.

YSR Congress which thought it is going to be the sole lifeline finally compromised. After talking about resignations after Budget Session, Jagan is speaking about diplomacy et al. For obvious reasons, Jagan could not take on the center on this issue.

Jana Sena is also heading in the same direction. After pushing students to come on roads, Pawan Kalyan stayed back in Hyderabad and later announced a big Public meeting in March. He postponed it later saying that it is Exams Time. It is now May and Pawan Kalyan is busy with his film shoot and party works.

Only Congress and Communists are bothered about Special Status now. But their opinions or agitations hardly matter in today’s politics. The Twist in the entire episode is that people have moved on from the issue even before YSR Congress or Jana Sena realized.
