Andhra Pradesh High Court has taken up the petitions of some farmers of the Amaravati region about the implementation of Section 144 and Police Act 30 in the capital villages. The court saw various visuals produced by the petitioners and expressed its anger on the police department and the Government.
The court opined that the Police are being hyper-active as seen in the visuals. The advocate General representing the Government asked the court to post the case till next Monday to come up with a detailed explanation. But the Court did not agree and said they would need all the details by Friday.
Recently, the Supreme Court opined that Repetitive Use Of Section 144 in Jammu and Kashmir is Abuse Of Power and to be violative of the “legitimate expression of opinion or grievance of any democratic rights. In all probability, AP High Court will order the immediate withdrawal of the Prohibitory orders.
Section 144 in Vijayawada and Amaravati region is in place since the first week of December, much before the announcement of the three capitals.
