Another Setback for CBN’s Opponents on IMG

YSRCP MP Vijayasai Reddy faced a setback in the Telangana High Court regarding the long-standing allegations against former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu over the IMG Bharat land allotment case.

Vijayasai Reddy, along with others, had filed three public interest litigations (PILs) challenging the land allocation by the Naidu government in 2004 to IMG Bharat Academies, alleging corruption and seeking a CBI investigation into the matter.

These PILs were part of a series of legal actions initiated by various individuals, including Congress leaders, against Chandrababu Naidu, accusing him of wrongdoing in land allotments. Notably, similar petitions had been previously filed by YS Vijayalakshmi, mother of current AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, and the late Congress leader Palvai Govardhan Reddy.

These cases had already been transferred to the Supreme Court, which delivered final judgments dismissing the allegations. The Telangana High Court, while reviewing Vijayasai Reddy’s petitions and hearing both sides, concluded that the allegations lacked sufficient merit.

The court recalled the earlier dismissals of related cases and dismissed these new PILs as well, essentially upholding Naidu’s stance that no impropriety occurred in the IMG land deal.

This ruling marks a significant legal victory for Chandrababu Naidu, as multiple attempts to frame him as corrupt in this case have been dismissed. It also serves as a legal setback for Vijayasai Reddy and the YSRCP, whose continued efforts to prosecute Naidu over the IMG land issue have failed to gain traction in the courts.
