AP Ministers In Singapore, How Will Cyber Security Training Help?

Cyber security and crisis response have taken centre stage during the Andhra Pradesh ministers’ visit to Singapore, with the delegation undergoing hands-on training to deal with modern digital threats and emergency situations.

The seven-day tour, which runs till April 27, began with a welcome from the Singapore Telugu Association. Ministers including P. Narayana, K. Atchannaidu and Anagani Satya Prasad are part of the delegation.

A key part of the visit is practical cyber security training through “table-top exercises.” These sessions simulate real-life situations such as cyber attacks, data leaks and system failures. Ministers are trained to respond as a team, assign roles, identify system gaps and take quick decisions under pressure. Experts guided them on detecting vulnerabilities and managing crises in a structured way.

The focus on cyber security comes as governance becomes increasingly digital. From welfare delivery to public services, protecting data and systems has become critical. This training is aimed at preparing leaders to handle risks that can directly impact citizens.

Alongside this, the delegation is also participating in the “Training of Trainers” programme under the Singapore-AP Joint Institute for World Class Governance. The programme covers modern governance models, infrastructure planning, accountability and leadership.

The impact of such training goes beyond officials. Stronger cyber security means safer public data, fewer service disruptions and quicker response during emergencies, directly benefiting people.

The visit also gives ministers exposure to Singapore’s advanced infrastructure and administrative systems, offering insights into how global best practices can be adapted in Andhra Pradesh.
