AP finally finds replacement for Rama!

Finally the state government had arrived at a clarity regarding celebrating the official Sriramanavami festivities. After losing Bhadrachalam to Telangana, Rayalaseema and North coastal Andhra have laid their stake to fight it out to claim ownership of the new official abode of the deity in the residuary state.

Vontimitta Kodandarama temple in Kadapa district of Rayalaseema and the Ramateertham temple in Vizianagaram district of coastal Andhra were the options for the state government. Finally it is decided that Vontimitta Srirama will be given Pattu Vasthram and Muthyala Thalambralu from the state government on Sriramanavami.

It is said that the Chief Minister already signed the file regarding this. A G.O. regarding this will be issued very soon. According to the history, Goddess Sita visited the area and the temple came up about 600 years ago. It is also said that Anjaneya did not meet Rama by the time this temple is constructed. Hence there will be no Hanuman statue in this temple. This is also the only temple of Rama with out Hanuman.
