AP Govt can not run from Hyderabad for free – TS

There seem to be not a single day passing for both the Telugu states with out having a contentious issue. And the new issue cropped up between the states is regarding the Property Tax. Telangana government says that since AP employees are using the services of the GHMC in the common capital, they should be paying 95% of their Professional Tax to GHMC.

Currently, the professional tax of AP employees is going in to AP government’s account after the state bifurcation. In the united state, there used to be 300 Crore from Professional Taxes collected from Hyderabad alone.

Similarly, Telangana government also wants AP government to pay the professional tax for government buildings and offices located in the joint capital of Hyderabad, when the AP government has been using half of these premises. Telangana government wants to take up this issue with the Center and recover the amount from Andhra Pradesh government.
